Ashley House

Ashley House Private Residential Home is owned by Charles, Ruth and Derek Rettie. Charles and Ruth Rettie ran private homes for the elderly for 8 years in Aberdeen and Ballater, before returning to Aberdeen in 1971 to develop Ashley House into a popular, successful private hotel. Ruth Rettie is a trained Registered General Nurse, and Charles Rettie is an experienced cook/caterer. Derek Rettie has an Honours Degree in Business Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Care, both from The Robert Gordon University. Ruth Rettie and Derek Rettie are the Registered Managers of the Home.

Established in 1989, Ashley House is registered with The Scottish Commission for Regulation of Care and provides care for 12 elderly people.

Our Home has recently been substantially upgraded allowing us to offer each resident a Single Room with private facilities. Both the lounge and dining room are spacious with beautiful ornate ceilings.

A nurse call system is installed throughout and facilities comply fully with fire and local authority requirements.

The building has its own grounds and sheltered garden. A chairlift is installed for access to upper floors, if required. The Home is also fully double-glazed and has gas central heating throughout.
